Here are some tidbits about this week’s broadcaster assignments:
- Bob Wischusen will be calling his tenth NHL game of the season, along with calling his first Chicago Blackhawks since January 4th, 2022, when they played the Colorado Avalanche for an ESPN+ and Hulu exclusive.
- Brendan Burke will be back at American Airlines Center for his first time with TNT since the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs opening round between the Flames and the Stars, where he called game 6 with Darren Pang, Shane Hnidy, and Erika Wachter.
- On Thursday, the trio of Mike Monaco, AJ Mleczko, and Emily Kaplan will be paired together for the first time, with Monaco making his tenth appearance of the season as a play-by-play commentator.
- Saturday will mark the return of ESPN’s lead play-by-play announcer, Sean McDonough, as it will be his first appearance since October 24th for the Bruins and Blackhawks. McDonough was previously occupied with college football obligations and will be making many more appearances from here until the end of the season, as he will be calling his second Stanley Cup Final.
Something else that is worthy to note is on Wednesday, the NHL on TNT’s game between the Golden Knights and Avalanche will be non-exclusive. Fans in the Avalanche’s market will need to watch through Altitude.
In total, there will be five nationally televised games across the networks of ESPN and TNT this week. Enjoy the games, everyone!
