WBD Sports / NHL on TNT
If you are a viewer of TNT’s Wednesday Night Hockey, there has always been one staple in their broadcasts when it comes to personalities and that is the host in the Atlanta studio, Liam McHugh.
Since WBD Sports gained the television rights to the NHL in 2021, Liam McHugh has not missed a single Wednesday night that TNT has televised. McHugh is a face that we hockey fans have become accustomed to seeing even before WBD gained the NHL rights as he was a regular host for NBC Sports’ NHL studio coverage as well. Tonight though, this ironman streak of games he has had will come to an end as he has the role of doing the infamous, jury duty.
Filling in for McHugh will be a face who has been in the studio before for some of TNT’s Sunday games and as a reporter for some of their playoff and regular season games, Nabil Karim. Currently, Karim is mostly known for his work on NBA TV, but he has covered many hockey games before as he was previously a reporter for TSN’s NHL coverage from 2011 to 2019. Karim joined WBD in the summer of 2022 after a brief stint with ESPN, and will now be hosting his first-ever NHL Wednesday night for TNT!
