NHL on ABC TV Schedule for the 2023-2024 Season

This season, the NHL on ABC will have a record amount of games shown throughout the months of January to April. There will be nineteen games (twenty including the all-star game) on the alphabet network with the first game beginning on Saturday, January 13th.

In comparison, last year there were 15 games on ABC (sixteen including the all-star game), with the majority of those being doubleheaders. This year, since ABC announced the addition of three games to their schedule, which brings their total amount of NHL games to an all-time high of 19, there will be a mix of singleheaders, doubleheaders, and tripleheaders.

As you may expect, the ABC games last season saw an increase of 19% in viewership with an average of 1.009M viewers. This was heavily due to the new addition of doubleheaders, and the season-ending tripleheader, which is returning this season. With the schedule changes, we will also have a second tripleheader on February 17th, which could produce some good numbers for the league with the Stadium Series also being that night.

This season, there are a lot of unknowns with how the ABC games will be in terms of viewership with teams like the Oilers, Panthers, Sabres, Islanders, and Kraken making their first appearances on the network under this new deal. Still, we will soon get a grasp as the ABC schedule kicks off on January 13th!
